Here at MIDFIX, we try to do our best to give back to our community. That’s why we recently organised a step challenge within the company to raise money for the homeless, as part of our Quarter 4 charity challenge.

With the winter months drawing closer during this cost-of-living crisis and the vulnerable people of Nottingham needing our help now more than ever, our charity choice for this fundraiser was Emmanuel House.

They are an independent charity that supports homeless people, rough sleepers, and people at risk of homelessness in Nottingham, and rely mainly on the support of individuals, groups, organisations, and Trusts.

Our employees were encouraged to track their steps using a fitness app or pedometer and competed in groups to see how many steps we could collectively take during the month of November. We pledged to donate £100 to Emmanuel House for every 1 million steps taken.

This was met with a great response from MIDFIX employees, and we managed to do 15,000,000 steps in total – which meant we are able to donate £1500; with great pleasure! This will go towards providing food, toiletries, support plans, and other essential services to those in need.

Overall, we are very proud of the success of our step challenge and the impact it will have on our community. We are already looking forward to organising more fundraisers and charitable events in the future! 🙂
